Cabotswood faced a significant challenge—their website didn’t reflect the quality of their actual products. While their handcrafted boots were exceptional, the online store failed to communicate the skilled craftsmanship and premium positioning. They needed to accommodate different customer groups, from rural buyers to fashion-conscious urban customers. Additionally, establishing a worldwide e-commerce operation was technically complex, requiring support for multiple currencies, various payment methods, and international shipping logistics.

We conducted thorough market research to position Cabotswood effectively against competitors like Le Chameau and Hunter, identifying their competitive advantage in premium quality at accessible price points.

We identified three distinct customer segments and developed customised messaging for each group, blending country lifestyle appeal with practical product benefits. Our multi-channel marketing plan emphasised search engine visibility, social media engagement, and partnerships with rural lifestyle publications and events. The pricing recommendations we suggested enhanced brand perception while maintaining competitive advantage in key product categories.

Our content strategy centred on British heritage and craftsmanship, highlighting Cabotswood’s 30-year track record and meticulous construction quality in every pair of boots.

Wireframe.

We mapped out customer journeys for different shopper types, pinpointing key touchpoints and conversion opportunities for rural buyers, fashion-forward city customers, and international purchasers.

We restructured the website layout to provide clear, simple navigation with logical product grouping accessible within three clicks from any page. Each design was specifically developed to reduce cart abandonment at critical stages, with trust indicators positioned strategically, streamlined payment processes, and prominent action buttons.

We created responsive layouts that adapted perfectly to mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, maintaining visual quality across all platforms. We built interactive prototypes that allowed customers to preview the shopping experience before final implementation, gathering valuable feedback that informed the final designs.

Design.

We translated Cabotswood’s handcrafted heritage into visual design, using textures, colour palettes, and typography that conveyed luxury countryside aesthetics with contemporary appeal.

We developed five distinct design concepts centring on striking boot imagery and quality craftsmanship details, establishing immediately that Cabotswood boots represent superior value.

We created custom interface elements including advanced product filtering, boot sizing tools, and image galleries that enhanced the shopping experience while reinforcing the brand’s distinctive character. We produced comprehensive mood boards demonstrating the website’s appearance alongside competitor sites and in various contexts.

We established a complete design system with reusable components, ensuring consistent branding throughout all pages while supporting future product expansion and updates.

Development.

We engineered a custom responsive e-commerce platform optimised for conversions across all devices, featuring intelligent product filters and specialised functionality highlighting Cabotswood’s premium boot collection.

Our international capabilities included multi-currency support, location-specific tax calculation, and integrations with global shipping and fulfillment partners, enabling worldwide customer reach.

We integrated secure payment processing including credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay to increase checkout completion rates and minimise cart abandonment. Performance optimisation techniques such as intelligent caching, image optimisation, and code efficiency delivered rapid page loading speeds even on slower connections, enhancing user experience and search engine performance.

We developed an intuitive administrative dashboard allowing Cabotswood team members to manage products, pricing, and content independently without requiring technical expertise. Advanced analytics provided detailed insights into customer behaviour, purchasing trends, and sales metrics to support ongoing optimisation and strategic improvements.

SEO.

We embarked on a national SEO marketing campaign for Atelius services. We ranked for each specific product offering within the 4 weeks. We worked on indirect keywords and ranked an additional 25 keywords within the first 3 months.
